On November 15 and 16 Trevor's soccer team (The Scorpions) participated in a Under 8 Soccer Tournament. They were scheduled to play on Saturday (the 15th) at 11:00 and then again at 2:00. On Sunday they were to play at 11:00 and then if they placed well enough again at 1:00 for either the Championship Game (1st or 2nd place) or the Consolation Game (3rd or 4th place). Well, we were just about to head out of the house for the 11:00 game on Saturday when the coach called to say the other team had to forfeit. So we won game #1. Yeah!
Here are some pictures from the 2:00 game on Saturday. It is hard to tell which team is which as the colors of uniforms were light green and gray. We finally had to look at the socks. Trevor's team has gray socks and the other team had black ones. Trevor is also number 5 if you see him from the back. They won this game 1-0. It was all about DEFENSE.
I had the camera with us during the 11:00 game this morning, but Hayley kept pulling my attention away from the game so I was not able to get any pictures. We ended up winning the 11:00 game 4-1. Although we won 2 played games and 1 forfeited game, two other team had scored more goals than us and played in the Championship Game. The Scorpions played in the Consolation game at 1:00.
Not much time to rest for the Consolation game since 11:00 game did not end until 12:05 (due to a late start). We ended up playing the same team in the Consolation Game as we did at 11:00.
Here are some pictures from that game.

Trevor did very well on this play. He was able to get the ball from this player and took the ball down field. You can see how he did in the next 3 pictures.

He was really excited about going that far with the ball and being able to keep it from the the other team. The only problem was he did not have enough room at the end to turn the ball inward to the goal.

On another play Trevor shot this ball and almost made a goal. He was so mad at himself, but tried again later and again the goalie caught the ball. At least he kept trying and did not give up. He was able to break away from the other player to take aim on the goal several times, which is a great thing.

After the game the coach had medals for the kids. Had they been 1st, 2
nd or 3rd they would have earned an actual trophy. Trevor did receive a trophy for playing soccer this year. It is a Bobble Head trophy and is proudly displayed on his
cubbie bookcase in his room.
