Happy 3rd Birthday Hayley!

On Sunday, September 2 Hayley turned 3 years old. Since she loves Dora the Explorer and her cousin Diego, we had a Dora/Diego Party. We wanted a smaller bounce house, but with it being Labor Day Weekend and me waiting to long to call we had to take what was left. So we got this little bounce house which included a basketball hoop, bounce area, obstacle area, climb area and a slide. They kids did have lots of fun, but they could have done so in the smaller one as well. Next year no waiting until the week before to call.

I even got inside and bounced with the kids. Let me just say, this is very hard to do and very tiring. I was bouncing with Nora (Hayley's cousin in the pink dress) and fell backwards. Well, I screamed when I did this and scared Nora.

Sean wanted to get more pictures of Nora and I, but she was scared. After this see decided she had enough time in the bounce house.

James doing a bit of exploring.

Hayley was so excited that Nora was able to help celebrate her birthday. They don't get to see each other often, but love to play together when they do.

Here is Hayley opening her present from the Newsom Family. It was a "Super Bouncy Purple Ball" as Hayley says. She also got a Giant Beach Ball that hooks to the hose and has sprinklers attached.

Hayley received a Dora Doodle Mat, Dora Tent/Canopy and many other Dora items from Vanessa, Scott, Dylan and Wyatt. The bag was so huge that it was almost bigger than Hayley.

Jennifer gave Hayley a pretty striped sweater and some shirts. This pink one says "Monkey See, Monkey Do, Monkey get in Trouble too!"

This is a very cool gift. Uncle Joe and Aunt Evelyn gave Hayley a Storytime Theater. It is a small movie projector and of course it is featuring Dora the Explorer. You can get more movies as well, but she is very happy with this one.

Hayley really liked the Dora Hat and Backpack she got from Uncle Gary and Aunt Adrianne.

Hayley loves to have pretty clips in her hair. These came from Auntie Karen.

If you look close at this one, Hayley has her tongue sticking out. She was concentrating so hard on get the package open. Once open she was delighted to find a Dora Floor Puzzle and a Dora Book from Uncle Jim and Aunt Margo.

Trevor was enjoying watching Hayley open her presents.

Normally I would have baked the cake and Sean would have decorated the whole thing, but due to the Police Academy schedule, we had to buy an undecorated cake from Costco. Sean did add the Dora and wording though.

Hayley was so excited to make a wish and blow out her candles that she did so during her Happy Birthday Song. Sean quickly lit the candles again and she blew them out again at the end of the song.

Wyatt did not want to sit down to eat his cake. He wanted it to be at eye level.

Dylan enjoying his cake.

Trevor is totally oblivious to the fact that he is being watched.

Little Mateo even had some cake.

Hayley liked the ice cream more than the cake.

Look at Wyatt's beautiful face. He has some of the greatest expressions. Not sure what he is thinking, but I don't think he wanted his picture taken.

After everyone else went home, I decided to brave the bounce house once again. This time with the camera and sitting down. Hayley liked jumping over the obstacles.

This time Trevor took a turn. The kids were having so much fun and laughing hysterically with every jump and fall.

She was very fast down the slide despite it being so hot outside.

Trevor tried a different approach to getting down the slide. He rolled...

and tumbled. Right into Mom who was taking the pictures. Ouch!

Sean even took a turn down the slide. Hey, wait you're not going down on your bottom.

The birthday girl and her Daddy. What a sweet picture.

The mesh of the bounce house was not the best for taking pictures, but we did manage to get this one of Hayley and Trevor.

Hayley wore her hat down the slide and then paused for a picture.

Since we had to get out of the bounce house, we decided to use the slide.

The only problem was that we were so hot that as we came down the slide we started getting stuck. I tried to keep a hold of Hayley, but her shirt came up.

Finally at the bottom, Trevor I realized that Trevor's foot had bent behind him. Luckily he did not get hurt, but we did not do this again.

What a fun day we had. We hope that everyone else that was there had a good time too!
