Trick-or-Treat Time

Obi-Wan and Snow White.
They are both asking when they can go Trick-or-Treat and Mom keeps saying smile please.

Here are the pumpkins all ready for the trick-or-treaters.

Our blond Snow White just before leaving to get candy. We had bought Hayley the Snow White Wig, but it did not properly fit on her head and made her look very funny. She said it was okay for Snow White to have "Hayley color hair."

Trevor was very excited that we were able to Trick-or-Treat with his good friend Nick and his sister Natalie. Nick was Jack Sparrow and Natalie was Cinderella. Trevor really enjoyed having a friend to Trick-or-Treat with instead of only Hayley. We are very fortunate that they live in the same neighborhood as we do.

This is Snow White on the way back home to change her shoes. She should have been Cinderella because she kept losing one shoe every few steps. Although the size seemed right the back of the shoe was so low that Hayley could not keep her foot inside. We tried putting on more pairs of socks on to make the back fit tighter, but in the end she had to just wear normal Hayley shoes. Despite the costume issues the kids had a wonderful Halloween.

Halloween Carnival

Today at Trevor's school they had a Halloween Carnival. The kids were allowed to wear their costumes. Trevor was Obi-Wan, but was not allowed to bring his Light Saber to school. Amy bought what she thought was the right size costume based on Trevor height and weight, but when it can the shoe covers were WAY TO SMALL. Thought for next year: either no show costume with shoe covers or buy a bigger costume.

There were various tables set up with different activities for the kids. The leadership class from the local High School helped at each table. Trevor visited the face painting table first.

Then he moved on to the Musical Chair Game. He finished in 2nd place.

Hayley and Sean arrived just in time for Simon Says. I have captured Hayley just after following the instruction, "Simon says, put your hands on your hips and jump up and down." Hayley must have heard "Simon says, put your hands on your hips and jump up and down with your tongue sticking out."

After Simon Says, Hayley wanted a butterfly painted on her face. She said that it tickled when the girl painted the butterfly.

Just before the parade was to start Trevor and his classroom buddy Mateo (red shirt) got wrapped up like a Mummy. Once wrapped up they had to hop to the finish line. Mateo was the winner of the race.

Then came the very unorganized parade for the K-3 grade classes. The teachers did not know the parade path and some can passed us twice. The principal was supposed to be leading the parade, but some of the teachers did not follow properly. It was nice to see all the costumes they kids were wearing though.

Pumpkin Carving Time

Hayley really enjoyed cleaning out the pumpkins.

So we let her clean one out by herself. She was good at scooping, but not keeping it off the floor. Luckily we had Boo outside while we carved pumpkins.

Trevor picked a very full pumpkin. It had so many seeds and insides that he got bored cleaning it out and Amy had to step in to help.

Amy decided to carve Oggie Boogie into her pumpkin and Hayley wanted to help. She was told that next year she can have big pumpkin and choose her own carving. She did surprisingly well with outlining the picture. (notice the tongue)

Trevor chose a Scary one to carve. He did the majority himself, with Amy only helping with a very fragile nose.

The finished pumpkins. Trevor's is the one on the left, Amy's in the middle and Sean's is on the right. Hayley bought two little ones, but we did not carve those. Forgot to include them in the picture as well. Check back tomorrow to see them lit.

The Trampoline

Trevor, Hayley and I (Amy) flew to Colorado on October 4 for a Family Funeral. While we did get to spend a lot of time visiting with family the kids found a new love. While there the kids were able to play on Uncle Bill's Trampoline. They had so much fun jumping on their own, but really liked it when Mom climbed on the trampoline and bounced them around "like Popcorn" as Hayley says. Here are some cool pictures.

Hayley really enjoyed bouncing high.
She learned to bounce on her bum and then bounce to her feet.

Trevor was trying so hard to jump this way. The tongue out is classic Trevor.

When Trevor talked to Sean Sunday Night of our trip, he told Sean that WE HAD TO GET ONE OF THESE THINGS. It was so amazing to see how far they bounced while I was on the trampoline with them and then even more amazing when I saw the pictures when we got home. I think Hayley hair is the best part. She would not let me tie it back, but that is what is great about the pictures, the FLYING HAIR. Trevor was so limp when I would bounce that he flopped around like an egg in a frying pan. They both were all giggles and Thank God no one was hurt in the taking of these photos, Mom just was sore from the bouncing. It was so worth it though, especially during such a sad time.
