On September 5
th we took Hayley and some of her friends to Build-a-Bear Workshop to celebrate her 5
th birthday. The kids were able to pick out either a bunny, a bear or a dog. They gave their new animal a name, stuffed them, gave then each a heart and gave them each an air bath. Then they carefully picked out the best outfit for their new friend to wear home.

Here are some of the kids who joined us: Nick, Trevor,
Aiden,
Keagan, Erick,
Kalia and Dylan. If you look closely you can see Wyatt's arm next to Dylan.

Hayley giving Natalie a hug.

Erick and
Kalia with their mom,
Denae.
In the background is Wyatt, his mom, Vanessa, and baby sister Kyla.

All the kids were told to put their animals on their heads and march behind the party leader to the stuffing station chanting 'Stuff me". Some kids listened and played along, while others just laughed and walked holding their animals.

Hayley got to add the stuffing to the machine. She thought this was the coolest thing. The kids loved watching the stuffing go through all the tubes on its way to the machine. The machine even tried to pull Hayley's hair into the machine (top picture).

Here is Mr.
Keagan showing off his bunny to his mom.
His bunny's name is
Pikachu.

Wyatt is telling the party leader what he would like to kids to chant as his bunny gets stuffed. He named his bunny Chowder.

After all the animals were stuffed the next step was to give them a heart. Each kid took a heart, gave it a kiss, made a wish for Hayley and put it into her Dog. It was very sweet to see the kids do this. Then they put a heart into their own animals and sewed then up.

Here is the whole gang showing off their new friends. The kids picked some really cute names which include: Roofers (Hayley), Sparkles (
Kalia),
Fluffly (Natalie), Popcorn (Nick),
Pikachu (
Keagan), Mocha (Trevor), Scott (Dylan),
Pikachu (
Aiden), Look (Kyla), Spot (Erick) and Chowder (Wyatt). We also made a bunny named Carly for Nora who ended up being sick and not able to join us.

After the kids dressed their animals they put them back on their heads and chanted "Take me Home" all the way to the registers to pay. Of course this is when Sean and I tried to sneak out, but we were not quick enough. So we just paid for the animals and helped put them in their new homes (boxes).

The kids all got together at the front of the store for one more picture. This was taken by the party leader and them put in a frame for Hayley to take home and remember her day.

The party leader rang a hug cow bell and then ANNOUNCED to the entire mall that it was Hayley's 5
th Birthday and they should help sign Happy Birthday to hear. Let me just say that Hayley loved it, but it was so loud.
After Build-a-Bear we drove down the street to Round Table for pizza and cupcakes.

Trevor and his new buddy, Mocha.
Kalia and
Denae. What a sweet picture of mom and daughter.

Erick and his new buddy

Since Nora was sick and not able to join us, we only had 4 girls at the party (Kyla is not in picture). The boys always out number the girls. This time there were 7 boys and 4 girls.

Instead of making a cake this year, we found these Bear Cupcake holders and decided to make cupcakes for everyone. They turned out really cute and were just enough of a sweet treat for everyone.
Thank you to everyone who helped Hayley celebrate turning 5 years old. It was a great time and we are thankful you could join us.
