Sunday, July 1st was Beach Day for the Johnson Family and Auntie Karen. Trevor and Hayley are all ready to go. It was a very sunny, but windy so we had to wear sweatshirts. We went to Pescadero Beach along Highway 1. This is where I (Amy) went as a kid with the Roletto side of the family.

Hayley liked playing with the shovel that came with her Sand Bucket.
She was having fun filling her bucket with sand.

Trevor on the other hand really liked the sand scoops. He was all about digging.

Our little sweethearts. I only had to take 5 pictures before they both were looking at the same time. Trevor couldn't stop digging long enough for the picture and Hayley kept looking down.

We made aunt Karen take a family picture. However in order to get the ocean behind us we had to look into the sun, which for Hayley and Trevor proved to be very difficult. The sun was so bright. Oh well, at least you can see our faces, even if we have our eyes closed.

Hayley was helping Dad fill the bucket with sand so they could make sand castles.

Trevor experiences the Pacific Ocean for the first time. Wow, what an eventful week. he turned 6 on June 26 and just five days later is putting his feet the in ocean.

Okay, Okay the ocean is cold. Trevor can not out run the water, but he sure does try.

He finally gives in and decided to stand still. Yet another cool (cold) experience when the water goes back out.

What a cute picture. Trevor is holding her hand, but not just because he is a good big brother but because Hayley kept trying to run into the water. She liked getting wet.

Here is Trevor and Mom trying to be brave and not watch the waves as they come in and get us all wet. Mom is better at this than Trevor.

Once again Trevor tried to run away from the wave, but Mom would not let him as she was about to get wet as well. It was his idea in he first place so he does not get to leave Mom.

What a lovely picture Aunt Karen took. She was supposed to get all of us getting wet, not bending over cleaning our hands. Well, at least it is a family picture.

"Hurry, Trevor look at Mom," says Sean. I was trying to get the picture of Sean and Trevor before the waves came in but Trevor would not look up so I could take the picture. Finally at just about the last minute he looked up. Good thing he did as they were able to run away without getting wet.

The girls wanted to have their picture taken as well. The water got a little closer to us then to Sean and Trevor, but thankfully Dad snapped the picture before the waves got us.

Check out how big this wave is and how
high the water went on our legs. We did not know it would be this big, but had fun anyway.

This is after the wave came in and we are waiting for the water to recede.

Sean and Hayley getting their feet wet one last time. Hayley loved the water so much. Although she was shivering she kept saying, "I'm not cold."

After we played in the water, they kids wanted to play with the sand toys again.

First Trevor wanted to be bury his legs with sand. This he was able to do all by himself. Then he had another idea...

Trevor wanted to be buried to his knees. Aunt Karen helped dig the hole this time. Trevor kept saying, "Hey, look how tall I am."

Hayley though it would be fun to be buried also. She was having fun helping Dad bury her.

FYI: if you want the sand to stick to your legs, feet, pants, shirt, etc. then play in the water before burying the kids the sand.

A back view of the sand all over Hayley. Notice Trevor laying down in the sand. I think they are trying to take the whole beach home with us.

Sean thought it would be fun to bury the kids up to their heads. So he enlisted Karen's help and both Trevor and Hayley just climbed right into the hole. It was great to watch because the more they were being buried the harder they laughed.

What a great way to end our day the beach.
Until next time, this is THE END.
