On Sunday, October 12 we decided to do something we have not done before.
We drove to San Francisco and went to Fleet Week.

What is a trip to Pier 39 without the sea lions? Not a fun trip at all.
They are so cool to see and hear. We had fun trying to imitate the sounds they make.

On Pier 39, Trevor saw a store and said, "I have to go in the because I am a lefty." The store had some cool items that would make life easier for Left-handed people. They had scissors that were for lefty's and Left-handed notebooks. Trevor did not get
anything in this store, but did get to sign the Left-handed Guest Book.

At the end of Pier 39 is a 2 story Merry-Go-Round. Grandpa
Roletto was planning to pay for both Trevor and Hayley to ride, but Trevor did not want to and because Hayley was too short I had to ride with her. She really wanted to ride the horse on the 2
nd story, but they did not move up and down. Sean was able to get a picture before we found the perfect horse on the lower level for Hayley.

This horse did not go up and down, but it did rock back and forth. Note to self and other parents. NEVER let your child pick this type of horse. It will make you sick to be riding in circles and the horse going back and forth. Trust me on this one.
Where are the ships you ask...

While walking towards the Coast Guard ship we saw this ship out with tons of people on it. It just appeared in the water from behind the Coast Guard ship and was impressive to see.

It turns out it is the USS Jeremiah O'Brien and you can actually ride it from one place to another. We did not get a chance to ride on the ship, but will try and figure out how to do so next Fleet Week.

We were going to board this Coast Guard ship and have a tour, but the line would have taken well over an hour and a half so we decided to just take a picture and move to the next ship.
Now for the Air Show...
These are the Canadian Air Force Snowbirds. They were absolutely amazing to see in action. I think not only because of their maneuvers, but based on how many there were together.

I thought this was a cool picture of the Snowbirds and and seagull.
Not sure how I captured the picture, but I did.

The Patriots.
They are neat because when ever you see their contrail it is either Red, White or Blue.

What a great shot of the Patriots and Alcatraz Island.

When the planes first flew upward we were not sure what they were making.

But we quickly figured it out.
This was Hayley's favorite part of the Air Show.

Here is where the kids sat to watch the air show. We parked on the top of the Parking Garage at Pier 39 and just put chairs outside the cars for the adults and let the kids sit inside. When they got bored of the air show they just wrestled with each other and kept themselves busy.

Not part of Fleet week, but I thought it was a cool container ship.
If you look at the very bottom of the spiral you can see the airplane.
Fat Albert...

Seeing Fat Albert means the Blue Angels are right around the corner, or should I say right around the building. This picture was taken as Fat Albert flew right over the top of us. I tried to take a picture as it flew above my head, but it was too fast and my camera was too slow.
Introducing the BLUE ANGELS....

Seeing the Blue Angels was really cool. We are looking forward to seeing them in another air show in the future. It was amazing how fast they were and how graceful they looked in the sky. I only wish we had a better place to watch them from besides the top of the parking garage.
The Ride Home...
Hayley was exhausted from our day in San Francisco and fell asleep on
Embarcadero Street. She pretty much slept the whole way home. She did wake up one time long enough to eat 4 goldfish and then fall back asleep with her hand in the Goldfish bag.

Trevor was not tired from the day in San Francisco and took advantage of the ride home. Not only did we have traffic coming out of San Francisco, but we also hit traffic near Candlestick Park because the 49er game had just ended.
