Our vacation started on Tuesday, May 1 at 6:30 am (PST) when we left the Oakland Airport heading for Orlando, FL. We arrived there about 4:30 pm (EST). We did not have to worry about our luggage as we put special tags on them when we left. Disney picked up our luggage at the airport and brought it to our hotel. This is where the real fun began...
Here is the Main Lobby at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. It was massive and had so much to see and do. Each of the small couch areas had different activities for kids and families to do. One had puzzles, one had a TV which showed Disney Cartoons (of course) and another had arts and crafts. The lobby is on the 3rd floor, but from it you can see that there is 6 floors of rooms. We think there are more, but you can not see them from the lobby.
The lobby also had beautiful chandeliers and decor. We took this picture during the Thunder Storm on Sunday of our trip, so the lobby is a bit dark. From this picture you can see the many floors of rooms.

This is the view from the end of the lobby. The window looks out to the Savannah area and is about 5 stories tall. It was amazing to see the animals from this view. We were not able to get good shots from inside the hotel looking out due to the sun coming through the window, but believe me it was BEAUTIFUL.

Here is the family on the bridge overlooking the lobby. The bridge is on the 5th floor of the hotel. If you are wondering why Hayley is not in this picture, it is because she is sitting on the floor near my feet while I take the picture of the others. She decided that while I had my back turned taking pictures and everyone else was looking around she would climb up the side of the bridge so she could see better. If there is something to climb ANYWHERE this girl will find it and climb it. Luckily, I turned around after taking a picture to find her just about to the top and ready to move her foot to the next hole in the net. We were so scared that I refused to let her back on the bridge at all not even for the picture. She could have fallen over the side and down 2 stories as there was nothing preventing her from climbing.

This was in the lobby at the top of the staircase. It was so neat to look at each time we left or returned to the hotel.
This is the hall way area leading to our hotel room. Each wing was decorated to match the theme for the hotel and you really felt like you were truly there.
We came back to the Hotel after a day in Animal Kingdom Park and found this Mickey on our bathroom counter. How creative and what a great touch.

We took this picture to show the Hidden Mickeys in the hotel room.
This was on the wall next to the dresser/TV cabinet.

The view from our hotel room. As you can see this is taken from inside our hotel room looking out towards the balcony. The zebra you see in the front is the chair on the balcony, the giraffe in the background is out in the Savannah. It was so neat to open the drapes in the morning and see Gods many creations every day.
Ankole Cattle...
Bongo...
Giraffes...
More Giraffes...
And these strange creatures. We could not find them on our Wildlife Field Guide, but they were so cute we decided to bring them home with us. They can get a bit whiny and fall fast asleep after a full day walking around Disney World though, so be warned in case you too find yourself loving this little creature (blessing).
One day we heard honking outside and went to investigate. Well the truck was trying to drive on the small road to deliver food to the animals, but the Giraffe would not move. The lady in the back of the truck even started throwing food to entice the Giraffe to move, but the Giraffe was not falling for that trick. Next thing we know the truck is backing up and driving around the Giraffe on the grass.
