Good Bye, but not forever...

On August 3, our home was host to a Farewell Party for Dan and Joe Peacock and for Don and Amy Joel. The Peacock's are moving back home to England and the Joel's are moving down to Southern California. They both arrived in Fremont in 2001 and now they are both leaving on August 24. We all met at Thornton Avenue Baptist Church (TABC) in Fremont and created 2x2, which was a small group for young married couples.

From left to right: Trevor, Sean, Amy, Hayley, Don, Amy, Alyce, Kelli, Karen, Devon, Aiden, Evan, Keagan, Steve Tammy, Dan, Rebekah, Joe and Dan. Steve an Tammy's kids, Alexandra and Xavier were away camping and not able to be there with us.

Evan took this cool picture of the kids. When the Dan and Joe first came to TABC they did not have any kids and were new to America, now they leave with 2 small children. As the shirt Tammy and Steve gave James says, "Assembled in America using British Parts." Don and Amy were not married nor did they know each other in 2001 when Don arrived at TABC, now they leave TABC and Fremont married for almost 5 years and with two little girls.

Devon, Joe, Tammy and Karen

Joe has picked up some wonderful eating habits while in America. It will take some time for her family to train her in the ways of a proper English lady.

Aiden making sure Rebekah is okay. He is a great big brother, not only to his brother Keagan, but any child younger than him.

Our water slide is not normally this cute, but when Keagan plays it is so sweet. What an amazing smile he has. Great picture Evan.

Little Alyce could not stay awake. Who knew the Dora chair was more comfortable when placed on the couch.

Check out the hair. Evan or Devon took this great picture of Hayley on the swings. I love the way they captured her hair.

Together with the help of Devon, Steve, Don and Joe I was able to create a 12x18 collage for each family. It is filled with picture of events we did as a 2x2 group or just with another family. It shows the fun, the memories we made and the friendships that grew. God brought all of us together at TABC and we are so blessed that He did. Although they have moved to Arizona, Dennis, Susan and Danielle Prestidge are also in our collage as they were a part of 2x2 and our friends as well.
