Roletto Barbecue

On Saturday afternoon we went over to Uncle Jim and Aunt Margo's house for a Roletto Family Barbecue and to celebrate my cousin David's son turning 2. David and his wife, Shinobu live near Portland, OR with their 5 year old daughter Kiana and now 2 year-old Cody. They were able to come down to the Bay Area for a visit and decided to have a family party.

This is one of the only two swimming pictures you will see Nora in. She was not feeling that well and did not play in the water for long. We were glad we got to visit with her and her parents though.

What a splash Kiana is making.
She came down the slide with such force.

Watch out Nora, Trevor is not playing by the rules. He is supposed to wait until the coast is clear to slide down into the water.

David tried several times to get Cody to go down the slide, but he refused ever time. He had got hurt on the slide the other day and did not want to do it on Saturday. He did have fun splashing in the water while the other kids played on the slide.

Hayley was being a daredevil and fell off the back of the slide and down the steps. It was funny to see and wonderful that she did not get hurt. She is a tough one.

Once the other kids were out of the pool Kiana and Trevor played for about 20 minutes longer. They slid down the slide and then raced back to do it all over again. They had so much fun since they did not have to watch out for little ones.

After all the swimming and getting wet we lined up all the kids for a group photo. I am kneeling to be at the kids level ,but David is standing behind me so in all the pictures the kids are looking up at him and not directly towards the camera.
From left to right: Cody (2), Nora (turns 4 on Oct. 8), Hayley (4 on Sept. 2), Kiana (5 1/2) and Trevor (7).

Hayley, Nora and Trevor get to see each other a lot during the year since they all live local, but with Kiana and Cody in Oregon we do not see them very often. The last time all the kids were together was in December 2006 when Cody was 4 months old. So it was nice to see all the kids play together and get along so well.
