Since Sean's parents, Gary and Terry celebrated their 40th wedding Anniversary on December 15, 2009 and my parents, Jeff and Mary-Rose, celebrate their 40th on January 17, 2010 we decided a big trip was in order. So we took them to Orlando Florida for the week of January 2 to January 9. We rented a house and took them to several different amusement parks and various sites. Keep reading to see the happenings from the trip.
There will be 8 posts in all.
Here is the house we called home for the week. It was about 20 - 30 minutes from amusement parks and right near a Super Wal-mart and Super Target. Not bad. The house had 6 bedrooms: 3 of which had King sized-beds while the other 3 had 2 twin beds each.(The car is not ours, I borrowed this picture from the house rental website. I forgot to take one)
This was the family room near the front door.It was a great area to sit and read for my dad who wakes up early.
A dining table between the stairs and the family room. It wasn't until Thursday night that we finally thought to move this table near the other one in the kitchen so we could all sit together. Until then a few sat at the round table and the others in the living room on the couches. The kitchen is on the other side of the stairs.
The kitchen and living room were connected which made it nice when someone was preparing food and the others were watching TV. The living room also leads to the pool.
Trevor slept in the Pirate of the Caribbean themed room. The room had a TV that was a Disney Pirates of the Caribbean television complete with a sea faring type remote.
Hayley loved the Hula Monkey room. There were great big monkeys hanging from the wall opposite the beds and a walk in closet that was as bigger than my bathroom at home. NOT FAIR!
The garage was turned into a game room.Although you could feel the cold from outside while in the garage we all had fun playing pool and foosball. We would have played air hockey, but there were no air hockey paddles when we arrived.
Here is the beautiful pool.Normally this would have been a good thing, but since the outside temperature did not get about 65 any day we were there, the heat pump for the pool would not work. Only Auntie Karen, Trevor and Hayley went in the pool, but only for a quick minute and then right into a warm bath/shower.
