Downtown Disney

On Wednesday of our trip we went to Downtown Disney. Although we have all been to the one in California, Gary and Terry had not been to the one in Orlando. That and we wanted to go the the World of Disney and Build-a-Dino stores there.

The famous Planet Hollywood. I think this one it my favorite just because the restaurant and store are inside the globe.

We did not go on this balloon, but it goes into the air above Downtown Disney. It it was not so windy we might have been able to go on it.

We had heard about a new restaurant called T-Rex and told the kids we might go there for lunch or dinner when we visited Downtown Disney. We ended up not eating there, but did visit the Build-a-Dino store. It is just like the Build-a-Bear stores, but themed around Dinosaurs.

Here are all the dinosaurs the kids had to choose from.
They also had little dinosaurs, too. The kids really liked the fact that the big dinosaurs had magnets in their mouths and the baby dinosaurs had them in the backs/heads. When you placed the baby dinosaurs in the big dinosaurs mouth it would stay there. So cute.

Hayley chose a T-Rex, named her Pinkie and dressed her in purple dinosaur pajamas. Trevor named his Pterodactyl Slash and dressed him like a cave man.

The Rainforest Cafe from the other side of the water.
At night you can see red lights and smoke coming out of the volcano.

We thought is only appropriate to take the kid's pictures with their grandparents.
It is not often they are all together so this was nice. If you look closely the grandparents are wearing buttons that said Happy 40th Anniversary . When Gary and Terry went to pay for a Caricature they got at the Guest Relations booth they were given their buttons and then my parents went and asked if they could also have buttons. Disney said yes. and the 4 of them wore them proudly.

This was outside the Once Upon a Toy Store. We did not go in the store, but Little Miss Hayley wanted her picture taken, so I obliged.

The top picture was taken in May of 2007 when Trevor was just about to turn 6 and Hayley was just over 2 1/2 years old. I thought it would be good to get the same picture and compare them when we got home. Trevor is now 8 1/2 and Hayley is just over 5.

While Hayley and Trevor were taking their picture this little girl, Samantha, came up and waited patiently for them to be done. Then when Trevor moved out of the way she asked if she could take her picture with Hayley. Hayley thought she was cute and said sure.

Now that is what I am talking about. A Christmas store that is opened all year long and is full of Disney stuff. I did not buy anything in there this time around, but did see some cute decorations I would love to have on our tree or in our home.

Since I love Dopey so much I had to take this picture. I don't remember seeing this when we were here in 2007. Good thing we came back or I would have missed it.
