We went to South Dakota from June 14 to June 21. We left from San Jose about 4:45 pm and flew to Denver and then on to Omaha, Nebraska. We landed in Omaha about 11:50 pm. We chose to fly into into Omaha, Nebraska as it was about $1,000 cheaper than flying into South Dakota.
Hayley wanted to walk by herself to the airplane. Sean and Trevor were in a different boarding zone than Hayley and I and we did not realize that we could have just boarded together. Since our seats were assigned, Hayley and I just waited until our zone number was called.
As she climbed the ramp to the airplane the flight attendant went to the cock pit and got the Captian's hat for Hayley to wear. She even got to wear wings.
Sean's parents were nice and drove to get us, but we had about a 5 hour drive in order to get to their house. We made it to our final destination about 5:30 am. We all went to bed, except Sean who stayed in the living room with the kids since they both said they were not tired. This is how I found the kids when I woke up about 8:30 in the morning. Sean said that after about 30 minutes of television the kids fell asleep, but didn't want to go to their room. Sunday was just a lazy day for all of us.On Monday Trevor started throwing up at 5:45 in the morning and did not stop until 2:25 that afternoon. We had to cancel our plans with the extended family on Monday, but were very thankful when he started to feel better and eating again. We all prayed that no one else would get sick during the week. Well, it didn't work. Hayley shared her cold with everyone, but Trevor. Then on Saturday, June 21 (our day to drive 5 hours back to the airport and then fly home on two different planes) Hayley started throwing up at 3:45 am. She did this every 20 minutes until 12:20. We got in the car at 12:40 to drive to Omaha. On the way there we had to out run a thunder storm and drive in the rain with broken (wonky) wind shield wipers. Luckily we made it to the airport safely and the rain stopped. Hayley had one incident in the car, but we were prepared. God blessed our trip with many memories and time together. The next several posts (7) show all that we did this past week. I hope you enjoy the pictures and commentary.
